Police are investigating a case in which a male sunbather was shot by a BB-gun while sunbathing nude at Kehena Beach in Puna.

Responding to a 1:30 p.m. call on May 7, 2005, Puna patrol officers determined that a 44-year-old man was sunbathing at the nude beach when someone apparently standing the cliff above shot the victim, who suffered minor injuries, with a BB gun or air rifle. The BB pellet penetrated the victim's skin.

In a word: Ouch.
