Merry Christmas, History Junkies

Last night, Time announced:

NEW YORK, Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- TIME magazine's archive is now available on TIME.com, bringing to life over 81 years of history as reported by the world's largest newsmagazine. The archive (http://www.timearchive.com) provides one of the most comprehensive news resources on the web with over 266,000 articles dating back to TIME's inaugural issue in March 1923.

So, it's now possible to read everything ever written to the beginning of Time.

This is genius, and could put the burden on other institutions (The New York Times, The Washington Post, etc.) to do the same. Eventually, we may see the networks make every minute of their newscasts available online via streaming media.

Time allows you to do a complete search for free, and read a synopsis of articles for free. If you want to read an entire article from its archive, you receive a prompt to subscribe to the magazine.

So...What was news the week you were born?
