If you're from the region of Upstate New York between Binghamton and Buffalo, or you know people who have lived there, you're probably familiar with the cult-like following Wegman's supermarkets has in that area.

Cult-like.

It's not just a grocery store. It's a way of life. And now it's a way of life that's going to last for a while. The company is investing in that region of New York, and flipping the bird to meat-haters at the same time:

GOVERNOR PATAKI: WEGMANS REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO ROCHESTER

Company To Invest $40 Million, Build New Facility, Retain and Create New Jobs

Governor George E. Pataki today announced that Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. will construct a 50,000 square foot, $40 million state-of-the-art meat cutting, processing, and packing plant on Wegmans Market Road in the town of Chili. This project will retain 329 jobs in the Rochester area and create 30 new jobs over three years.

Signs of economic growth during a Republican administration and investment in meat-eating at the same time. Think that might bother some people?

I have to admit that I eat meat, but any further agreement with your statements ends there. I only buy local ,small farm raised meats and eggs.I refuse to consume drugged-up,
chemical-enhanced products that the government pushes on us at rediculous prices, with no significant studies investigating the long term effects of these substances-on us or the animals, or the environment. If you choose to ignore these facts, and don't ask questions and read as a consumer, that's your
own ignorance . As far as the jobs being produced by the Wegmans enterprise, one might ask, when considering
the societal benefit of these types of jobs, what are the answers? why is it that only the money is cosidered for
benefit, and so few people are looking to improve the social awareness
of the area by supporting organizations that promote agricultural independence from these greed mongers
who monopolize the food industry and pump crap, chemicals,
pesticides, growth hormones, into our lives and environments without answering to the public at large.Read up on just how much you can clean up your body and de-toxify,
and live a life uncontrolled by the governments food. Now that's a republican ideal for you, ..remember? Less government
