The Mass Graves
Pictures of Saddam Hussein's mass graves are starting to emerge, as shown here (via Note-It-Posts.) The next time someone quibbles with President Bush's word choice during a speech, or a contract or sub-contract out of the Defense Department, or hoists an oh-so-clever sign calling Bush a terrorist, or cavalierly refers to the people leading our war against genocidal maniacs as "the Bush regime," they should be forced to look at these photos. It's worth a try, but I don't think it would do any good. Some people are simply impervious to truth. Posted by: robin at November 25, 2003 09:14 AMIf Bush had simply said he was going to war to eliminate Saddam because of his obvious genocide, I'd be much more supportive. Where's the link to the pics of the weapons of mass destruction? Oh, right. Bush's claims of WMDs remind me of the movie "Saving Private Ryan," which was a made up story about a subject which was compelling enough to not require one. Posted by: Jeff at November 25, 2003 01:00 PMPeople are arrogant. I doubt that if the reason for Bush going to war with Iraq was really to get rid of Saddam because of these "mass graves" that people would support Bush. For one, there would be protestors protesting that they're (as in the Iraqis) are not our people, why should we even bother? Bush before this war has mentioned Saddam's cruel doings, but did anyone support him by saying, "yeah! lets go get Saddam! He needs to be punished for what he's been doing to his people!" The answer is no. They (as in the American people) care more about themselves than people getting slaughtered by a madman. Posted by: Lament at October 31, 2004 04:23 AMPost a comment
