Zell Miller: Bush Is "The Right Man"
Miller told Barnes that he thinks Bush is "the right man at the right time." Miller's endorsement shouldn't come as a total surprise, but if nothing else it will highlight the problems the Democratic party will have with the South in the 2004 election. The Electoral College math isn't getting any easier for the Democrats, with California about to be run by a Republican, New York - another traditional Democratic stronghold - even-money in early polls between Bush and any potential Democratic challenger, and now Miller, a key Southern Democrat, backing the incumbent. I don't care what ol' Zell calls himself. He is not a democrat. For some reason Zell decided not to follow his southern bigoted cohorts to the Republican Party. As you know, since you conservatives actively courted them; southern democrats ran to the Republican Party in droves when the democrats had the audacity to grant equal rights to "Nigras" Politicians like Zell, Tom Delay, Trent Lott, Jesse Helms, and the late Strom Thurmond are the reasons that most African Americans and other minorities could never bring themselves to vote republican. We realized that the republicans essentially wrote off African Americans, reasoning that there are more White southern votes to be mined than Black votes. Needless to say that as an African American woman I am use to attempts at marginalization, I have definitely persevered. I am what I call a "Clinton democrat". so I do believe in fiscal responsibility. Your people keep shouting that liberalism is an ideology of a minority of Americans. Even if that is true and I am the last democrat standing. I would never bring myself to embrace a party that embraces such bigotry Posted by: Lynette at September 2, 2004 04:40 PMPost a comment
